In fairness to Rod and Jane the shop category would have been pretty minor in terms of numbers. It would have also been another prize for the Sponsors to dish out on. You can only have so many catergories can't you.

Well done guys..

Only gripe was at the end of the 6hr I was in the process of doing the last 2 laps for the team with 58min to go. Did the 2nd to last in 27min( like my previous 2) so was just under the cut off point of 30min to go. 30min50 left according to the official timer as I went over the timing pads. Rod announced the course was shut when I was over half way around the tent sites already well into my final lap. Then some mong at the end of the tent sites pulled me, and this other guy off the course, saying we only had 23minutes left to finish our lap. Crazy When we actually had 29min left at that point! He didnt know the race actually started at 10:06am and not 10am not being a competitor. Fool!

But no reasoning with some people though. Hmmmm Shoud have just ignored him and kept going but didn't want to get DQ'd or anything. So instead of 12laps our team only got 11laps causing us to just miss out on a top 10 result. parc! Angry

Yeh, the guy had no right to pull you off the course. If you had not managed to make it around within time then the only harm would have been a wasted lap by you...

Just need to know the rules and be prepared to go like stink on the last lap!! I have had the exact same thing happen to me at one of the Hanmer 12 hours. Rod closed the course as I was riding through the changeover zone, and I had people telling me the course was shut... but I went out and got home with a couple of minutes spare. Double Thumbs Up

I reckon I couple of the folks taking pic's might have got one really good one of me yesterday and would love to get my grubby litle mitts on it.

are the pic's posted anywhere else or just on vorb and on the blue dog site ???

I had the opposite problem at hanmer, left at 5:10 for a cruisy last lap (forgetting that the start wasn't until 10:10), then just leaving the paddock heard the call for one hour to go, so instead of a cruise it was go like stink to avoid the ire of my team mates for not getting back in time for us to fit in another lap.

Yeah good on ya! Double Thumbs Up I know what to do next time... Still kicking myself!
Just found out who the other guy was that got pulled off the course. The lead junior team!! Poor young buggers not given a chance to get 12laps in. How demoralizing and unfair for them, considering it was the officials fault on a power trip, and not theres.

Here you go guys...for busting your esras and being in the lead we'll pull you out early!

Just lucky for them it didn't cost them 1st place or anything.

The proof is right there in the results. Officially they were 1minute 5 before cut off Crazy - and we had 43seconds to spare.

I hear that the technical stuff coming into the transition area caused alot of issues for people!

Damn those madcore braking bumps and fire roads ruts!!!

Seriously though- well done to all.. esp you Mike Wink

Thanks Paul, I heard some cheering coming from what I thought was your tent, I threw up a fist but was trying too hard to pin it to look back. Sorry I did not come and see you guys, Liz came along with Will and when I was not riding I was baby sitting!!

I did not make it in the end to support- so that must have been John or Brent maybe? Big Grin

We spent the day on Port Hills instead.

I heard that you were smoking though mate- and the team had a well deserved win by teh looks of it. Double Thumbs Up I also heard that you got a flat and ran a faster time than the pros? Tongue it

It would have been a mint day on the hills.

That was my first race puncture Crazy I had to run the last 1.5 kms but managed a 27 minute lap which I was amazed at. That time I saw you last week after running from the sign of the Takahe to the Cathedral Square must have really helped Double Thumbs Up !

That was an awesome effort, when we heard that you were running we thought, oh tihs! But then we looked at the time and saw that it was going to be a 27 minute lap anyway...
