I prefer isopropyl alcohol because it doesn't have the bittrex in it

yeah but you mentioned your beans being overly extracted ?? what ya mean by that? | Too much water thru the puck (the tamped ground coffee) results in bitterness and parc taste...

MMM yeah now that you mention it thats exactly what there coffee is. Bitter and parc. I wondered what that was a result of.... the cafe down the road from CC cashemere is worth a look. Cant remember the name of hand but at the rear of the block of shops on Cashmere Road by Hoonhay Rd. Plenty of space for bikes. Nice deck in the sun and good coffee.

I think the owners of the CC in Sumner are on here too and from all reports they go all right ( I am convinced Fergie only goes there for the muffins)

Good job. CC will never be any good till it gets decent service and decent baristas. Who ever heard of having to wait 20 mins for a coffee. Only good thing about CC is quality of the roasted beans. Everything else is rubbish.
The current absolute best heaven on a stick coffee in chch is a piccolo from Sweet Kitchen in merivale. Closely followed by underground. Level pegging with Blax. Forget anywhere you have to wait more than 2 minutes.

It is all about finding somewhere with good beans and a good barista.
Any cafe could do it... but very few do.

but what about all the milky mikly milfies-where are they going to go to top up on their calcium levels to fill those breasts of theirs?
Coffee is complete tihs at CC-way too much milk. That is what is probably closing them down, the cost of the milk. I can't say C4 is all that much better either. They over roast their beans-too bitter brother...

I don't think the price of milk has closed them down. I've never been to CC but coffees usually cost around $4 and less than $1 to produce.

Thats an urban myth. Might only have 30c worth off coffee beans but it looks like an expensive joint to run. I bet the overheads are way off the chart.
