i felt i had to tell the truth,,

YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH.
the extra 4.15 ks was due to some one moving a trail marker on the whaka 100 and sending me off into the great unknown...esra

after a 100k's .15 feels just that lil bit longer esp up hill
awesome race though

Along the road to the tip track, then up there, and back to karori via the boundary fence and salvation. 52 minutes all up from the bottom of the TT to makara peak carpark.

Just what I needed. Smile

I realised last week that I'm in a multisport race on saturday. So, concluding that 3 days training should be enough, I did a quick ride from welly out to the hutt, up dowse drive, down korokoro stream and back into town.

Pretty much completely on 90 minutes. I'm definitely a bit slower (about 10% would be my guess, although I did take 15 minutes up dowse drive vs my best time of just under 12 a couple of years back*) than I was when I was "fitter", but not enough for me to care. After all, competitiveness is for people who haven't learnt to "not give a tihs" yet.

What I did learn was that I can't ride down steps as fast on the litespeed as I can with 8.5" of travel. But that on smooth singletrack the bike fairly whips along.

*The 12 was an estimated time. I was fully on the pipe, and then got hit by a car at an intersection just below the top, and took a couple of minutes yelling abuse at the driver...
