Did you buy the lyrics new?, if so, back to the bike shop, so that they can get the fork sorted, it could just be a bad set of seals.

If you really wanna go new forks, maybe 66RC3, Totems?

but I reckon get your current forks sorted and you'll be sweet

Yeah dude that would be my guess.
Lyriks are a sweet fork and IMO are pretty similar to the 36 Talas you were going to replace them with. No point replacing them if you dont have too Double Thumbs Up

How did you get everything upper case... except for Fix 36 Talas?
Eh?

Also, just get new seals, not new forks.
If Rock Shox seals fail more than once, look into after market seals from the likes of Enduro.
