Sure steel bike flex, but not in a noodly way - least not my 853 one. Or my 4130.

But it steel's ability to absorb and dampen trail 'noise'* rather than transmit it to the rider that makes steel bikes feel nicer to ride.

Ali bikes feel harsh in comparison.

* vibration, chatter and to a degree bumps.

Conclusive proof that aluminium is the poorest choice for bike components.

Cromo FTW!

My SS is steel and sub 10kgs.

When I can afford to I'll be replacing the Giant roadie with a steel one.

It's all about the ride quality Smile

Not doing too bad for a set of cranks that would be 12-15 years old?, and from a time where cranks especially were still being built a bit light and not quite as strong as modern stuff

Even forged cranks from the time weren't great, I know that My Kooka forged cranks didn't last that well

Aluminium can't be that bad. After all, didn't I just buy a set of aluminium road bars off you? Wink
