All this doom and gloom from people, people once said no one would ever walk on the moon and look what happend.

So just get on with it and prove these doom sayers wrong - be sure to let us all know when though.

I have a friend who was pulled out of there, probably seconds from drowning. She suffered brain damage, life will never be the same for her again. It's not something I would joke about.

TMouse is the highest authority, and with the simple raising of an eyebrow, minds are changed, sometimes for the better.

Mind you, she says riding the Port Hills is impossible (tracks too narrow apparently) so convincing her a jump of 50m from beach to beach is possible might also be tricky...

You haven't told us if you can swim yet?
If yes: Tie your bike to a rope, swim over, then drag your bike over afterwards Double Thumbs Up
If no: As above but tie bricks to your ankles and wade across Double Thumbs Up

Then, as you dry off think of all the time you've saved going the direct route and you've shut all the neighsayers up Smile
