Thats because they've had virtually no team for a few years. At WC level you ride what you're paid to ride.

Not sure about that Sam Hill on a VPP call. The sundae looked like it really suited how he rides |
Yep, point I was making was the execution of the horst link has a major effect on how the bike rides.
Perhaps hill would be better on a Maestro bike - they are by far the best all-rounder out there. Too bad DW stole their design. |
perhaps mr hill know more than you about what bikes he likes to ride on, and he did chose the speshy. |
a) No, I certainly know more than Hill in regards to what is the best bike for him to ride.
b) He chose Speccy cos they offered him the most money
c)

Well this thread has made for interesting reading.
The breakdown:
Specialized is having a serious crack at the DH scene - if they pull it off like they have with XC etc then watch out, its gonna be good.
Sam Hill - an obvious choice for development. That boys got some skills and a few years left in him yet.
Horst vs single pivot - they both have their own merits. Current DH rigs run both successfully.
IH Sundays are about to flood the market and be cheap as chips to buy.
Speccys are about to become very sought after ( as if they weren't already )
It is going to be interesting watching the 2009 season unfold.

Specialized aren't having a crack at the DH scene, they want to sell more bikes.
Who bought Iron Horse before Sam Hill?
I doubt we'll see anything revolutionary from Specialized, maybe some tweaked geo, or a "demo Sam Hill" model.
Fast guys are fast on anything. Look what wins, all kinds of bikes, it doesn't really matter except to the groms.

With eyebrows like his, he could take off on anything.
