You really so wonder what the motorists are thinking as they go nowhere and the bikes all zip by going down (for example) Glenmore Street. I've been passing the same motorists in the same traffic jams for years. I guess they think something along the lines of 'Easy enough going downhill but I bet he hates the uphill on the way home"... if only they knew... hahahaha! Tongue it

So did I, though I did see the odd person who was obviously hurting after not riding for a LOOONNNGGG time.

I agree. We need good public transport and quality comes at a price.

Cycling up Karori Rd I stopped counting after passing the 300st car in the line Big Grin. This just shows how little people care about the environment and their own health (not to forget about my own).

If we at least want to look like we are worried about climate change Paranoid we should support public transport and the supreme two-wheeled alternative.

Tonnes more walkers out this morning, but seemingly the same number of cyclists. Traffic wasn't as packed as I expected, comign from Island Bay way. Really nice to not have the thundering buses roaring past our house from before danw - felt like a Sunday

Guten tag Radler, I thought you hated buses (or is it just the drivers) Wink

I've found riding to work strangely satisfying the last 2 days..

Why do you dratered morons seem to think that paying the bus drivers low wages is going to improve cyclist safety? If you ask me, higher wages + better conditions = happier bus drivers + more competition for bus driver jobs = better quality applicants = safer roads for cyclists.

Absolutely, natural law. Sounds like the Wgtn drivers get ripped off big time in comparison to the Auckland and ChCh pay rates.

I get mad if they thunder past me with no more than a few centimeters between my handlebar and their left indicator Crazy. But that wouldn't be so much a problem, if there where no cars parked on the road taking up a lot of space.

The soaring oil prices will hopefully solve that soon Wink.

An average driver is on a salary of just over $40,000?? I think that is a fair salary for what they do - they don't need any specialist skills or qualifications.

They should just shut up and drive
