Good summary indeed. Did anyone notice severe distortion in the CD version on the first couple of tracks? I didn't until someone pointed it out to me that it suffers from compression clipping - something to do with the mastering.

Metallica's early albums have been re-issued on hi-fi vinal (4 sides 45rpm etc). Perhaps a remastered version of DM a year or two down the track is not out of the question.

It is funny that the audiophiles are prefering the video game version of the music.

I didn't notice any distortion, other then the usual clipping of the speakers that tends to happen when volume is far too high! Will try listening at a non-deafening level.

Might have to download the GH thingy for me ps3 - after I have sussed the real thing!

Yeah I was hoping for a vinyl reissue at some point. As for the GH3 version, some say it's fine, other say its too far tweaked for gameplay purposes. To be honest, I only noticed clipping after I read those blogs, and it really is only in select places in the mix where theres heaps of crash cymbal going on. Well, to my ears anyways.

Can anyone recommend me the next Pearl Jam album I should buy? I only have Riot Act, and have been told that it's not their best...

There's no point buying another Pearl Jam album, you'd do better to just eat your money.
