Any help on how to remedy this would be great. Cheers

had that with vesrahs in BB7s - if you look at the wear on the rotors you'll notice the pads actually run slightly up onto the rotor arms, pulsing is those arms passing the pads. You can actually feel it on the stock avid sintered pads - just much less noticable (presumably cos the vesrahs are more agressive so bite harder). Try a washer under the cps mounts to raise the calliper 1-2mm

As usual, a fountain of knowledge, Danose, thanks
Sorry to butt in on your thread Stuart, but I was going to post a similar thread before I saw yours.

Yup - raising the calipers a gnats whisker usually alleviates the problem. Me, I went away from the wavy rotors and found braking to be more consistant.

I still notice pulsing (if I look for it) even on my old cleansweeep rotors (with avid pads) on the commuter (again with bb7s) - same reason, pads are deeper than the brake track

those are the cps washers - we're talking about ADDING an extra 1-2mm of plain washers to raise the caliper relative to the brake track

thats cos shimano know what they are on to with their brakes.

hence the posts saying to buy them. i have shimano DXR v brakes on my haro bmx racer, and i'd put money on them working better than a normal bb5 or deore cable disc.

so really, just go buy a bmx for the same price as a new set of good brakes.

ahh - I love it when a thread is invaded by clueless groms Hmmmm

avid's cps system is a great idea - anyone who's battled conventional post mount brakes (hayes, shimano etc) on a slightly out-of-spec frame/fork knows that. Of course if you're a grom who can't read the instructions on how to set them up correctly all bets are off...

you obviously havent ridden a bike with dxr's before have you...

poor boy...

sure, all bets off if i ride through a 20" puddle and drench my rim and callipers, but what sort of person is stupid enough to do that any way.

p.s. ive forgotten something... remind me how it feels when you hafta pay soooooo much for a tiny pad when i'm gettin mine for next to nothing and they're lasting longer please?
