Mudguards FTW!

Too many in this thread are fair weather commuters.

Finally, after too many years on a too small bike with jumpy gears I've traded up to something a little less unpredictable and a heck of a lot quicker... Double Thumbs Up
Although completely practical therefore entirely boring.

Got the nishiki. Only regret is not buying it the day I arrived in sweden instead of the day before I left, would have been nice to potter around on it. Pretty sweet ride. Getting used to the coaster brake, few hairy moments the first few days.

With fenders, chain guard and reelights, pretty good commuter for flat palmy, handled the gales last week really well.

That's pretty classy looking! I like the aesthetic of a single but I won't be on the flat for much longer so never was an option for my new wheels.
