Hey,

Just bought a cromotoze off Trademe and the forks that come with it are a bit dodgy (old boxxers that make strange noises) so I was wondering what people would recommend/offer for me to have up front?
Would it mater if I had it in 5" or 7" rear travel?

I'll be looking out to get something 2nd-hand or new sometime soon:
888s?
Boxxer race's?
Something else?

I wouldn't know cuz I haven't ridden in about 9 years and back then speedsprings in my Judys was as good as I could get!

Cheers

Congrats on getting back into riding after such a break.
Some long travel single crown forks will also be fine, Z1s, 66s, Domains, Shermans. If you're planning to ride downhill mainly then what you have in mind will suit. The Cromotoze feels nicer in the short travel setting with a slacker head angle and lower bb, this is provided you get a softer spring for the rear due to the lower leverage ratio.

Cheers for the info ryguy.
Yeah it's been ages, I figure at 26 I still have a few years to go nuts on some trails! I'll keep my eye out and hopefully someone on here will offer me something.
Ok so if I have the frame in 5" travel mode it should offset some of the things I hear people complaining about on the keeseew. If the travel on the back is 5" what would I want up front? 5"? Less? More?
Thanks again! {Smile}

A couple inches difference in travel between front and rear won't be any problem.

if you get singles like 66's, the crowns will hit the frame, so domains would be the one.

05 66's will work..

Hmm is it just the design of the frame that'll make singles hit?? SO.....some 05 66's....any other options apart from them and boxxers? {Smile}

well, i know that 07 66's hit the frame, so that would mean any newer ones would, i had domains on mine, was close but could x-up..
