Here are the new(I think) requirements for wearing body armor at nationals. I found them on the bikenz website

No, that's good productive use of work time. Wink

{Posted via mobile.vorb.org.nz} I think everyone who races the Nationals (XC & DH) should have to wear those pub-sumo fatsuits. Firstly it would make things more entertaining for the spectators (especially if the suits were filled with jelly) and secondly it would give rider sponsors more room for their messages - everyone wins Double Thumbs Up

i pay the same percentage of acc as you do because believe it or not i have a part time job. Smile

Bet I pay more acc than you........

of course you do you earn my money than me. but you dont pay as much as a ceo of a big company etc. the point is that you are not the only one that has to pay for acc, so if some kid gets hurt it doesnt just affect you but everyone equally

the thing is it doesnt really affect anyone, its not really your money anymore once tax is paid, so why complain as to what its used for after? everyone pays tax so just get over it

i dont really care what it looks like, but i stand by my point in sayin it does affect riding ability

If it effects everyone the same and everyone has to wear it then it is an equalizer - you should be super stoked you are not in the minority wearing armour now Double Thumbs Up

Its tough and cool to not wear armour, but its not so cool wearing adult diapers and having a hairy guy sponge bath you cause you're in a wheelchair, but hey people have choices, if you don't like the rules the governing body makes then its your choice not to ride in the races.

Again why should the general population pay for you to get fixed up when you crash not wearing the correct gear?

FYI, ACC is a levy not Tax.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, I'll also have to buy some elbow pads to race this year. I'm yet to decide, but I think I may just kill myself instead. Or get a crooked haircut. Big Grin
Be careful Llama if you were going to miss a tree by 5mm you will now hit it and possibly crash.
Now thats a safety issue Smile

I find it interesting that even though at the Rotorua round of the North Island cup this year more than 60% of the competitors were "groms" you seem to see them as having no knowledge what so ever of what they are talking about. Amour does restrict movement it is completely pheasable that an extra inch of solid plastic hanging off your elbow will hinder its movement.
All I wear when i race is a helmet and I've fallen off plenty of times, theres no need to cry about it its just the nature of the sport
Don't wana get hurt don't ride because it'll happen sometime or other regardless off the kilos of plastic you have strapped to your chest that you think will save you

Form a petition and campaign against it

idiot.

Everyone says armour inhibits your riding, I'd actually love to see statistics of how much it slows you down Eh?

Also, you groms forget that everyone is in the same boat, so if everyone gets a time slower by 3 seconds, then wearing armour doesnt make any difference to the results Eh?
