its so stupid, i bet numbers will be down at the races this year cause people simply cant afford the extra cost on top of the travel, accomadation race entry etc.. and its right after x-mas where people will already be broke.
good one MTBNZ =(
THey can just reduce the entry fee
they wont reduce the entry cause thats got nothing to do with this the entry covers the venue, truck hire and gas, ambo and the timing equiptment etc. and what evers left goes to the club that hosts the race. if they reduce entry the clubs wont make any profit and thereforre wont hold anymore races which is sadly what happened to AKDH over the last few years. noticed why auckland aint holding a round this year?

mate you can kcuf up, its what riders feel comftable in, we are paying to race and theres already enough rules as it is? so what if we dont want to waer long knee shins, accept if you crash its your fault for not taking that precaution, long knee/shins move around like a hctib and restrict your movement so this is more likely to casue a crash.

But you still want others to pay for your medical.

Anyone remember the backlash when helmets became compulsory when riding a bike, Yeh stupid decision that was too.
5 years from now everyone will have gotten over it and this furore will be a distant memory.
Suck it up people, change is always resisted.

As long as it doesn't conflict with any lycra jeyboy races, I'm fully prepared to turn up and be the offical BikeNZ "tell the gromms go get kcufed, your not racing cos you don't have the right armour" person

im sick of old gafs that dont race themselves telling the ones who do race what they can and cant do.
its a fact of racing, some people just simply prefer not to wear excess amount of padding and its there own fault if they hurt themselves, just get parents signatures saying they accept responsibility for there kids saftey and that would legally hold up in court.
as for the seniors, they are legally adults and im sure they can make there own decsions and dont need a babysitter telling them what to do

Unfortunatly you do NOT make the rules. Until you do you must follow them, no way around that really. As for the old gafs statement grow up the rules are about safety whether you agree with that or not.
I have an idea maybe write a letter to the organisation concerned, because writing the tripe you have been on the internet is doing sweet F**k all to help your cause.

A lot of those "old gafs" have been involved in DH since ALL the u17 riders were in diapers

Don't you have some kind of court order barring you from mingling with the youth of today?
