You'll need a tubeless kit (Stans, DT, etc.) to run tubeless on 317s, they are not tubeless by default.

Oh frig this, I'll just use what I've already got !!!!

However one more question/comment, my 08 Trance 1 has the tubeless versions. When I brought from Chain Reaction I asked if fitted with tubes but they weren't sure (got to wonder about their product knowledge......).
Since then I've had a flat from glass and it has tubes. I wasn't worried as thought tubeless tyre costs more so must be better. But just now I've noticed on the website the tubeless version weighs 755g and the tube version only 560g. So Giant fit something that costs more, is heavier and then add tubes too ! Since you guys are adamant weight is an issue should I convert to tubeless ? Wheels are Mavic 317

Light tyres and light tubes would be an easier option. It is quite an effort to get the rim strips and put goo in your tyres to turn the 317's into being able to run a tyre without a tube.

I run tubeless because it means many many less punctures for me...and being able to run my tyres at lower pressures for better traction etc. I do not run tubeless for weight benefits.
