It's just an old skool avanti competitor with 120mm psylos and 26x1.5 slicks (aprox 17kg) 
It's sped up to keep it interesting. But the cars are still averaging around 45k and the 98k down the gorge is quite legit.
Whole trip takes 25mins on a good day  and 40mins with a Welly southerly in yer face  |

If i had a fatter ass and a bigger cog i rekon i could go faster  - some dude from Capitol Cycles rekons he's done 120k  but i'm skeptical he'd get up to that even pedaling in with a 53/8 tooth combo...  Perhaps stretching the truth more than his lycra... i run outa gears at 69k with 44/12  |

You must be that guy who motors past me regularly and laughs at my large bag and sometime lack of gears. I've no idea how you go that fast on the flat let alone down the gorge. How long does it take you to get home? |

5-10mins longer, just depends on the wind direction - gorge is a little longer than J'ville hill |

Yeah, it's a good commute, but the northerly headwind sucks big time.
