What tyres you get in the end? |
Done, and done. (42:16 using Tomi cog)
Tyres are Maxxis Overdrives. 35c of glowing goodness.

Be a killer at Pukete with them short pinch climbs on the full course. Nothing walking wont fix
Dents if you remove the rear brake people know somethings up when they want to have a ride. The Avid spacers work well and clip into the calipers. Not sure they came with the BB series of brakes though.
Or even hayes ones cable tied so they don't fall out its what I did.

Yes, because I've stopped riding tight circles inside my garage. I am still at the "jebus!" stage though. I can slow down slowly, but emergency stops are out of the question. Rear wheel lock-up has not yet been achieved. My legs = weak.

Yeah, rear brake is still on as I'm too lazy to remove it! One day it will hopefully have split clamp brakes, which will make it easy to remove. I hadn't thought about the pads wanting to fall out. *goes and checks rear brake* The pads are still there.

Rides good too.
Nice all round gear = a bit hard for me up hills gentle rises into a head wind.

Believe me, I would even struggle at Pukete on the 32:20 and knobblies it originally came with, let alone 42:16, fixed, and "city" tyres. But I might give it a go one day...
As for the brake... best option is removal of brake, next best is removal of pads. I could jam something in there though - might have to visit the LBS and see if they have anything.

My very old and cheap commuter.

Just need a new seat post and get the set up right.

Isn't too bad. It may take a bit of searching around, as it takes a 26.6 or something.
