the bb was stiff as a mofo and wasnt working right so I pulled the cranks off (knowing the plastic bush that had broken on the drive side was a likely cause) but it turned out the nondrive side was a bit seized (should be fine if I take it out of the frame and show it some love).
so I'll try take it out of the frame and I've emailed the man in rotorua about some parts and hopefully it wont be an unfunctioning piece of tihs sometime in the next month or two. I'm over it.
About gravity cranks, is there supposed to be a crush washer on the drive side of the crank/bb as well as the non drive? or only on the non drive side.
and also, does anyone have any tips for getting the new bb bearing bush thing (tihsty plastic thing that broke that made me lose all respect for gravity products and the monkeys that design them) without breaking the new one? |
You need to find a way to press the bearing cover in straight, very carefully with a big vice is a good way , very much like pressing a headset in
the key from there is to be careful when installing and removing cranks, a little bit of , lube on the axle helps (tri-flow grease is one of my favourites), and press the crank axle through slowly

The painters might not be able to get the colour I want. Not too keen on the other options. Although I could always do my "flame bike" idea.

Also on that note, gym instructors that don't even know how to use it!
