Ferry tickets are booked.
We are two people so far - still room for another one or two in the car if anyone wants to sample some nice singletrack.

I wouldn't keep your hopes up for riding peaking.
It is fairly battered after the storm
See the tread in nelson forum to see what I mean.

Yip.
No sure about particulars but Colin and I were planning on doing at least wakamarina then & the best of QCW then.
Sounds all good.
There is a really good and reasonable new hotel in Picton, have to go look what it's called.

Ooh. I am pretty keen too...
Wakamarina is always good... as is Nydia Bay... Have not yet ridden Whites Bay, but am keen too... same goes for Peking Ridge (if cleared by then...)

I could be a starter for Wakamarina or Nydia (coming from Nelson).
I'll let you know if any decent Nelson tracks are cleared by then too - I'm thinking Peaking is unlikely to be opened by then. There's months of work to be done here - and we're still waiting for the nod to start on it.

What is the state of Wakamarina, Nydia, Whites Bay and tracks like that at the moment after the storm?

Not long to wait now. Time to narrow down what tracks to ride. We got two of us, a car and three days for riding. [sad]I don't have my new bike though[/sad]
So is anyone up for getting out with us on Saturday, Sunday or Monday?
Likely Whites Bay on saturday. Need to find out where that is, where it goes. I think it's a start and finish at the same place ride- right?.
Sunday - open to suggestion. Orignal plan was Peking Ridge before the big winds. Anything open and worth hitting yet? Might do Nydia Bay.
monday. Keen to do Wakamarina. Anyone know if it clear? Anyone want to hook up to do the whole getting cars and people and bikes too - from the start and finish?

Hey Colin,
Peaking Ridge and sunrise Ridge are no where near open at the moment and the way things are going will not be in the near future ..They were extensively hit by the storm Infact Sunrise Ridge may well have been 'Ground Zero'. in the impact stakes.
We have had VERY poor turn outs for Volunteers for the working bees to clear this track (todays had no one turn up at all) and has come down to a small group of riders who are willing to help.
thus we are advancing very slowly.
Hope you find something else fun to ride... maybe Nydia that was in pretty good nick a couple of weekends ago... cheers Simon

Actually I am pretty damn keen and as of yet have no plans for Labour weekend.
Will see what the missus thinks of the idea (I might be able to convince her to drive the van for the shuttles).
I would be very keen for a whites bay, Nydia and Wakamarina weekend... Not too far to travel between each, and not as far as Nelson from Chch.
Will get back to you soon.

All good to roll some sweet single track over labour week-end
Offer still open to peeps who want to join us
A guide for Whites Bay would be nice - likely Saturday, but pretty flexible if someone wants to offer there services on the Sunday or Monday
