If you are prepard to spend the $$ for a new float R or similar, I'm sure that Blue shark could custom build you something

maybe even talk to rick at Krankin, I thought that he had a bunch of Manitou parts and shock's, he should be able to help as well

other than that, will that bike allow a longer stroke shock?, ie 7.5x2

What kind of bike?

It's a 05' Specialized SX (not the trail version)

I am running a 2" stroke shock on it now, Fox Float RP3, but the link is hitting the frame before the end of the shock so everytime I bottom it out it's hurting my baby Sad

Intresting as every other one is running a 2" stroke and I havnt heard of any problems?

Have you ensured that the links are assembled correctly?

Is it the factory shock? It could be 2 1/4" stroke which looks identical

Have included a pic of the link, pretty sure it dosnt change anything if I turn it around, but will give it ago, pic of where the link has hit the frame ( little white mark)

The shock that came stock with the frame is the 5th with the 1.75" stroke (it's actually a tad over 2" with the measuring tape), The Fox was brought on it's own I think but not sure may have come on a bike but the shaft measures 2" from the very bottom up to the air can

Sorry the pics are big

rick at high speed cycles (krankin on vorb) does servicing of 5th element shocks,
if it just buggered & needs a rebuild, could be a lot cheaper than getting a new one custom made Double Thumbs Up

Swaped the link around to see if it would change anything but it's identical either way. Put the 5th back in today but it's in need of a service or possibly rebuild as there is no rebound at all and the air aint holding to well

Also emailed Specialized and asked them what they thought, cause I won't be able to run that 5th forever and spending huge on modifying a shock shouldnt need to be an option

have you had a look at getting a spacer fitted just behind the bottom out bumper to reduce the stroke of the rp3?

Negative on that one hombre.

the 2 and 2.25 stroke shocks have a different length piston seal head and that determines the stoke -

The idea of putting a spacer (bigger o ring) in there just isn't cricket.

Well not in the Fox book on how to conquer the world anyway.

Hey Chalky

are those shocks the same eye to eye length?, it almost looks like the fox is shorter eye to eye?
