The sparc metal market has meant that the fastest growing area of bike theft is the 'parcpy bicycle that nobody would want to steal'. These are generally unlocked or locked with a equally cheap lock.

Basically, when the sparc value of a junk bike hits the price of a hit of heroin, a brand new market opportunity is born.

that guy had two wharehouse full of bikes. the cops started removing them from one place and it started caving in, they had to stop and get engineers in to hold the place together. most of the bikes were all in parts apparently. one guy on our tour last week went to find his bike in the police RCMP lot and it took him a day with no luck.....
