kia ora all,

I was wanting to know if there are any BMX tracks on the North Shore in Auck or in the greater Auckland area. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction please.

Actually, this could be a good thread to start maybe, BMX tracks and their locations and even post a photo and a review of the track, to help out us newbies.

Cheers

Bush Road, Albany is the only BMX track on the Nth shore. There's also tracks in Swanson, Papakura, Howick, Waiuku and Glendowie. If you live on the Shore then the Albany track is your best bet and its a great track. Just be careful of the little double at the bottom of the start ramp - it has claimed lots of riders.

Congrats also to Sarah Walker!

How is it gay exactly? Are there naked men cavorting in the gaps?

Good to see NH have updated their website: http://www.nhbmx.org.nz/
Their club night is Tuesday.

Pigeon Mountain is a kids track and not suitable for the kind of riding you can do at Papakura (great track IMO) or North Harbour. Their club night is Friday and it's a family fun evening.

East City have their club night on a wednesday. http://www.eastcitybmx.com/ - it would be a pig to get to from the North Shore through the peak hour traffic though.

Waitakere www.waitakere-bmx.com have their club night on a Thursday.

You'll see lots of people doing several club nights each week. WTK and NH is a common combination.
