My training partner and I went through the same thing, finding decent shorts. My old pair needed replacing, I've been cycling for 20+years and she was new to the sport. We tried various, from cheap to expensive. She loves her sub shorts, swears by them. I use NZO deanolites, awesome.

Do not ever ever skimp when it comes to cycling shorts. You can never ever put a price on a sore, rubbed raw, aching bum and privates doesn't matter if you are a guy or a girl.

Echoing what others have said, find a pair that fits and is comfy and buy them, ignore the price. Once you have spent some time in them on the bike and they live up to expectations, go and buy more.

I used to have lots of problems with comfort when i wore SUB shorts. The chamois bunched up a bit and I hated them.
I love the womens Nzo shorts. Not the cheaper nzo pace shorts tho unless you like being squeezed as the sizing is strange compared to the nore expensive ones.

Hi everyone

I have my own log on now, so I would just like to say thanks to everyone that has contributed to this discussion. Smile

I am picking that I will need to go and try some shorts on once I have got my body back after bubs is born. Can't wait to get back on my bike again, it feels like it has been far too long already.

So cheers to you all

How long before bubs is due? I cou;dn't wait to get back on my bike after #2 was born - I was riding just 2 weeks after! With #1 it took a couple of months! Crazy Laugh Out Loud

I think the NZo shorts are worth a look. They do have a good reputation. I will be trying their shorts when I need a new pair.

Best of luck with the bub... and I hope you are out spinning your wheels soon!

Not a bad deal Smile I have a pair of the womens ones, but they're dry-weather shorts only. In the wet, the seams seem to rub quite badly Sad

I've got a couple of pairs of the NZO shorts that you're welcome to have a try of - I've pretty much completely switched to bib shorts so you'd be welcome to grab them for a bit. I'm in Christchurch too btw Smile
