would have thought more of the "big names " NZ elite XC riders would be going over. Four of the riders I coach will be there learning for next year with no pressure (all part of the plan to London).

Do XC riders have to qualify with UCI points (or be part of a country team) to race world cups like DH?

Do we have any "Big Names" left in Elite XC John? I was chatting with Stu Houltham the other day and the subject came up, and how dissapointing for the sport it was that so many of our 2006 worlds squad no longer races XC 'seriously'. By our calculations it's only Kashi from the 8 'elite' men who is still seriously pursuing XC. The rest of us have moved on to other things. Same goes for many others. Read into that what you will....
I hear you cabin
we do have a bunch of juniors with the dream still. Riders like Scott Little and Tuckie and Clinton have headed to road more. These juniors might just do the same in time. When Clinton went looking for an MTB team he didnt event get a reply!! so what is the end goal? and how realistic is it?
