What would you buy?

been out of road racing for about 6 years now, looking to get back into it.

only got 1500 bucks max.....

what is there? or stick it out and save to $??? for a proper bike?

been mainly looking at avanti......


any help appreciated from those in the know.....

dratme, or Buy/Sell on Vorb might have some bargains - Good bikes for low low prices.

Also many bike stores regularly do interest-free finance deals of a year or so, so you could get a nicer bike and pay $1500 up front and then pay the rest off at your (comparative) leisure. I've bought a couple of bikes this way.

901, good alloy frame, carbon fork, full shimano inc hubs, brakes and cranks. $1599. Can do for $1399.

when i was riding everyone wanted a cannondale.... now there are so many bike names i don't know where to start....

An alloy road frame is an alloy road frame its almost impossible to go wrong with, all you're buying thats different is the paint and stickers.

i had a Merida BMX in the 80's as my training BMX. could not kill it.
