I know this is old news, but, anyone? |
i thought evans settled into a tempo in the last couple of km to the top to limit time loss to sastre and not so much worried about the schlecks, once he did that they may have realised no point putting digs in.
and don't forget those attacks would have been hurting the schlecks too, so may have needed a bit of time to recover themselves as no help to sastre if they ended up getting dropped.

I know this is old news, but, anyone? | If they continued early on the would have broken Evans. One thing Evans did really well was as soon as they slowed down he went to the front and pulled. No wheelsucking there. Evans doesn't have that change of pace that both the Schlecks have. Andy will win someday but you don't have to be a rocket surgeon to work that out.
Sastre needs the TT of his life and cadel needs a normal ride nothing exceptional for either of them to win.
I can't believe Tugboat called our witty banter last night Waffle

"Waffle"??? All that highly considered and erudite discussion of the tactics and mores of le Tour and he dismisses it as "waffle"?
Frankly, I'm surprised.

He made the time cut, but pulled out of the Tour after a visit to the hospital. He said the main reason he carried on was so that his teammates who waited for him didn't get eliminated...
That boy's suitcase of courage should be called a shipping container!

That boy's suitcase of courage should be called a shipping container! | There must have been the bandages of hurtiness that got him over the line. That and the foundation of friendship and tenacity of teammates within the livery of Lampre

From Jules website
| Quote: |
Another cool highlight of Alpe d' Huez will be my 35min or so of video footage I managed to capture on the way up. I had the bright idea of using a bit of Kiwi ingenuity and taping my video camera to my spare helmet. At the bottom of Alpe ' Huez, I swapped helmets and rode up wearing my 'helmet cam' Julz-style. I ran out of HD space just inside the final km but that didn't matter. I'd managed to get in the 'Dutch Corner', which is always good for a laugh.
