What point in the track does it start? Want to make the night rides a bit longer- and would beat going around a couple of times.

it starts just before you cross back over farm road where the second waterhole is about 20 metre back up the track

And a couple of other tracks.....

Directions to the Bobcat Track.
Follow the Mcleans Island track to the first stopback.
Turn right and go along the top of the stopbank (behind Mcleans Island golf course).

There are vehicle access ramps going off the stopbank on the left. Take the second ramp and follow your nose.

This short track isn’t well known (until now), isn’t marked, and is just a little hard to follow the first time you ride it. A thick cover of pine needles also sorts out who’s facing the front and who isn’t. All they’ve done is put a Bobcat through to form the track. There’s an occasional gorse bush and a fallen branch or two. Much more natural than the hard-pack loop track.

I’m told this track goes all the way to the river bed, but I haven’t yet followed it beyond Ashfield Road.

Directions to the new loop track (under construction)
As for the Bobcat track, but keep following the stopbank until Coringa Road or thereabouts. Explore the block on the left and you’ll find it. This is behind Coringa golf course.

This track is mostly through young trees (3 to 6 ft). All they’ve done so far is put a bulldozer through, and ripped it also. It’s rough and fun the way it is, on full suspension.

I was only passing through this area on the weekend and didn’t follow the track to see how far or where it went. Some enquiries back at the bike hire place and they say it’s a new loop track. They’re not sure how the surface will be finished or when. They seem to be hinting at a less family-orientated track.

It will apparently be directly accessible from the Haul Road car park. This seems a little dodgy as that’s where the motocross guys park. Not sure how you could keep them off a mountain bike track.
