Oh yeah, what do you guys know about the legality of the Western Hills/Russell Rd trail. Blink

And has anybody ridden old coach road trail out Parua Bay/Whareora Rd recently, if so, what sort of condition is it in?

Yea, in the russel forest area - a bit north of the tracks indicated on the west side of the highway. Can be done as a loop if you use the highway, pretty mundane 4x4 tracks (closed to vehicles now though) with one really tech section of single track.

whole loop is easy doable in 3 hours, but there is lots of exploring that can be done in there as well

Went up coach rd the thurs night.Of course it is filthy muddy. i put some little bridges over some of the creek crossings a while back so even in this wet we got up and down pretty clean. unsure what the wind will have done over weekend, the big storm last year took a couple of days with the chainsaw to clear track. So i would guess i might be busy next weekend. I love my saw. smells like.... victory.
