having chainstays that thin made of carbon and like 6 inches below bb sounds like a recipe for disaster |
 |
|
JacobRjett Excellent(15) Wed 4th Jun 8:06pm |
they AINT gona break dude.. and even if they do. they have a 5 elite racing seasons warrenty or some tihs, eg. 5 year warrenty after being absolutely hammered. |
 |
|
JacobRjett Excellent(15) Wed 4th Jun 8:15pm |
argh that is soo nice. how much does she weigh? |
 |

handayman Not Rated(0) Thu 5th Jun 12:17pm |
Bullet proof penguin ur a kcid those chainstays will always be in tension (ie pulling) so they dont need to be thick.. if you look close they are wide tho which makes the esra end laterally stiffer. |

yes i know but being so low would make them an easy target for rocks - and carbon doesnt like hard impacts
would you still get the warrenty with it being secondhand/ if so then it might be ok |
 |
|
JacobRjett Excellent(15) Thu 5th Jun 5:12pm |
dude its not going to break, get over it
any new zealand downhiller in the know, will know these are one of the best frames money can buy
and theyr also VERY hard to get hold of |

quite often - 3 disc rotors and 1 set of cranks destroyed by signals rock garden - im not saying the frames are not sick - i know they are all im saying is the chain stays look far to low in my opinion |
 |
|
JacobRjett Excellent(15) Thu 5th Jun 7:51pm |
wich is also hindering his sale
if you gota problem with the chainstays, let the guy who builds them know.
if you can get hold of him
sick bike dude, i wish i had the money for that! |

Look, I've never hit anything with the chainstays. As has been rightly pointed out they are thin so they can flex vertically, in fact they are slightly flexed all the time to give an extremely smooth and supple first part of the travel. They are wide so they don't flex laterally for all intents and purposes.
This bike has cleaned the Signal rock garden a few times and it hauls through there. |

Perhaps you need to work on your lines, or reduce your sag

Well when you build a World Championship winning bike you can thicken the chainstays.
Stop spamming the sale. If we could afford them, it's what everyone would have. |

Change gears with gripshift-style Rohloff shifter.
Crank it like a moto for higher gears.Handy being able to shift through the whole range with one flick if needed |
