Go up 3 mile hill road, right into "Flagstaff/Whare Flat Rd" at a massive water tank on the corner (towards the bull ring/start of the pineapple track, if you know where that is) then go along that gravel road until you see a big white gate on your left. It's not so much a gate as a big barrier to keep cars out. That's laings road. You should see a sign for laings road as well as another sign stating rules/conditions of entry. It's a forestry road so it's not on google maps. Go down there a km or so to get to the start of S&L.

Google map showing the route you take to get to the gate (the "B" marker) from town:

Looking forward to a kick ass summer enjoying all the work we've put in over the last couple of years but few months especially.

Just need to find some of the kahuna's for the duck pond gap.

Made the 'missing' section of stage 1's boardwalk up last night. will install it soon.

Still waiting on the decking timber. will call the guy later today and check on progress

Cheers

Hopefully when the wood dude does the moisture test tomorrow it'll show it ready for treating...then ready for building. Next weekend hopefully.

No digging this weeend as I'm away doing the Peak to peak race.

Morning All

Trust you all had great weekends. The Peak to peak race was awesome with the weather holding off letting some great racing ensue. Managed to get a quick ride on the new trails at 7 Mile bay too, which was very cool, even if the log rides were slick as heck.

Hoping to have a big day up the hill this Saturday as I have a big list of jobs, most of which are short;
• Install the section of boardwalk I’ve pre-made into boardwalk in stage 1 of Snakes n Ladders
• Stabilise the first skinny of The Third Place
• Mesh over the duck pond hoses
• Install some sections of drain-coil and gravel
• Cut and dig in revised finish line for TTP
• Make roll-over/ skinny stunt for The Green Mile entrance
• Possibly tidy up the Double Barrel stunt exit in stage 2 of S n L

I’ll be up there from 10:00 till I get it all done. I have tools and materials (though I’ll have to grab some out for the end of TGM too)

As always any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
G

No update on timber dryness yet Sad

Morning All
Well it was wet and i forgot the koy for the gate so it was a shortish day up there. I collected the wooden handled tools and did some light wieght drainge work along Surgetank road. This will be the return part of the Green Mile loop.
Big thanks to Justin for getting out in the wet too. i found him tinkering away in The Green Mile.
I won't be up digging until early September due to other committments. Kinda hoping things will have started to dry out by then and the riding can begin. i'll get the wooden stunts in asap.

Cheers
G

After the rain we've had, I'd say you'd get about 5 metres down the track before your wheels could no longer turn Smile
In all seriousness though, it needs to have a pretty dry spell in winter to be ok to ride. Like at least a week or two of no rain.
Talking from my own experience, G will have a better idea though.
