I still can't believe no one looked at those bikes and thought "kcuf that suspension looks good, lets try and do the same thing" Instead of "Stable platform valving sounds great for downhill bikes" |
SPV works better with a much larger volume of oil and lower leverage ratio's
but yes Bossard was well ahead of his time in DH racing
and gotta love Michelin comp 24's |
Comp 16s, when they were rare as rocking horse tihs team only tyres. |
wildgrippers were so tihs hot. I'm sure i've still got some somewhere. |
Wanna sell a set? |

not quite right for this little project, a set of comp 16's would be perfect, even a set of wildgripper DH's would be good, I might just have to buy one of the sets of missiles or Kujo's that come up on Trademe
anyways back to the Sunn's and Rotecs

Damn all this retro talk. It makes me think too hard.

any one got pics or links to stuff about the old sunn DH bikes?? |
We all know your bike is a Lahar copy |
calling it a copy is a bit of a stretch, its just a high single pivot, but definitely got some inspiration from the lahar tho.
lahars are great bikes and mine rides much the same |
you have a high pivot and a very similar rocker suspension design. I think its a stretch not to call it a copy. All dues though, I think your bike is mint as and you're obviously a pretty talented kiwi.
I'd love to have a ride, if we're ever in the same town we should swap for a few runs. |
yeah if you are ever up this way your more than welcome to take it out for a spin, i also need to make a trip down south one of these days too
