For the moment, the freeride track should be left alone. When I was up there with the council, we walked up the freeride track, and Conrad wasnt terribly impressed with some of the freeride track. He is concerned that this track has alot of untreated timber which has been used for building, which over time has rotted out and become incredibly dangerous. He was also concerned about the new exit line which has been cut. My understanding is that the guys that cut it had permission from Craig, before he left. However, they have cut alot of native out of the way.

The council would prefer that the track is approved by them, before cutting any native out of the way.

The main point of focus for now is the main track. The council would like to see a rideable track worked out as soon as possible. This is why we will be attempting to get the track cleared this weekend.

Once we have a track which can be ridden from top to bottom, we will then start to build berms, jumps and drops.

Our curent design for the track does not cross the freeride track.

For all the guys that build up there, come along tomorrow, and help us with your ideas for jumps etc.

A huge effort by everyone who showed up today. Nearly got a rideable track all sorted. Just a small area to clear.

Look forward to the next dig

Yeah, i was surprised at the amount of work we got done today, its pretty much completely rideable apart from the section where the double used to be, and the section where the three side-by-side drops used to be.

Im pretty keen to go up there again so we can get the track sorted out enough to get to the fun part - building the jumps Smile

There is a really decent sized drop which i found and would be super keen to build it, it's probably about the size of the Kapiti road gap... up to the council i guess.
