With the points for consistency - it could get a little confusing, especially when you've an autobus of 30 guys all finishing same time - someone loses 29 points...

Nice choices! Kirchen and Devolder are names I should probably have had on my list, and good to see you rate Gerrans as a consistent finisher. He's class.

I reckon Lambretta's line-up is pretty good too. The logic of guys who are super-domestics or who are from smaller teams that won't necessarily be in the headlines but still there or thereabouts could pay-off.

The tactic of just picking GC contenders who'll pick up the bulk of their points on the key mountain stages and TTs may backfire on a couple of people (or at least I hope it does).
Yes like my theory that JD will take a tihsload of 5ths and 8th places Double Thumbs Up

Fair point - but Zubeldia for instance, I reckon might be the type just to put his bright orange jersey up in the lead groups regularly and end up with a top ten GC for his efforts...

I'm gonna openly say that I don't really follow roadies at all, and the tour is pretty much the only race I care about. Not sure why this is, but I tend to follow it religiously. I have no knowledge other than previous years racing and what I have picked up through a quick hunt on cycling news and here and general banter. My choices are lightly based on logic, more based on who / which teams I like. I really should have picked Rabobank for the team (I loves them), but I just think the CSC team riders look too strong this year.

Feel free to get many laughs out of my probably poor effort, but hey - its all in the spirit of competition Smile And by the way I did actually send this to Tugboat before you guys all posted your line ups up - I haven't ripped anyone off Smile

Competition 1
Cadel Evans
Frank Schleck
Stijn Devolder
Alejandro Valverde
Damiano Cunego
Andy Schlek
Yaroslav Popovych
Carlos Sastre
Denis Menchov
Juan Antonio Flecha

Competition 2

a.GC:
1 Denis Menchov
2 Cadel Evans
3 Alejandro Valverde

B: Oscar Freire
C: Mauricio Soler
D: Andy Schleck
E: CSC

Big thanks to Tugboat for organising this, I managed to kill a (not working Paranoid) morning finding riders. I look forward to seeing some qhizz bang graphs of the competition progress throughout le tour Tongue it

But you have no Menchov, I have him winning. Something makes me think your roadie knowledgebase may be a tad greater than mine Crazy

I see Menchov in there somewhere, but probably only top 10 on the back of the TTs in the last week, and maybe one good mountain stage. That means I can't pick him for my top three, and I don't see him being super consistent either, though he would be close to being in my top 10 there...

I'd have Popo in there before him though. Double Thumbs Up

I am also surprised noone rates Remi De Gregorio. Huge talent in the mountains and has great form at the moment. Soler hasn't had the season or prep he has in the past few years.

Oh well its not the first time i've been alone in my opinions Wink
