I got an industrial type staple on tuesday morning, fortunately i was only a few hundred metres from work when my tyre went soft.
serves me right for not taking my lightweight tyres off after my last race
thingone, I have been thinking along those lines about v bottles for a while, I'd like to see 'low rent' beer included as well, ( that includes corona for those munters trying to be 'classy')

There is a consumer perception that beverages taste better when consumed from a glass bottle... while the consumers are still asking for glass all the companies are going to keep selling it...

Cans do seem to taint flavour... But only when you actually drink out of them. As soon as said beverage is poured into glass its all grooovey.

I agree with the perception, my [futile] argument is that most of the mass market beer consumed, tastes so damn bad to begin with, what difference would it make?

but with convenience drinks like V purchased from a service station you usually buy it to drink then and there... not to take home and pour into a glass...
Could make all the companies pack into biodegradable bio-plastics?? The ones the "Good Water Company" are using are pretty high tech, look good, last well are made from renewable resources (waste water in some instances) and will break down relatively quickly in landfills etc or are recyclable. The only downside is that these bottles currently cost more than petro-chemical derived plastics. With the price of oil going up however it might not be all that long before the price of the bio-plastics matches that of the petro-chem bottles.
it would be great if there was a deposit on returned glass bottles like most of Europe
That way instead of breaking a glass bottle, take it back and get a refund on it.
