There is a LOT of dirt that has been moved around up there. So there'll definitely be some settling, but nothing too major. Smile

great work guys Smile
Although I am guessing that today is not a good day to try to get some air Crazy

..unless Makara is miraculously less gale force than Brooklyn.

Mmmm...our old place up on todman street was pretty damned quiet in a southerly, but the new place gets a bunch of full-frontal southerly action.

Still, I intend to go our for a ride at some point today. I'm thinking that makara would be a good choice...

Speaking of nice work and packing down, I'm intending to head up makara for a wee ride this afternoon. I'll post up some thoughts once I've given it a ride...

Your not up Reuben ave are you?
We've got a similar sounding tree over/beside our place. It's going nuts in the wind.

Scotty - my thoughts on the alterations:

They're nice. The little tabletop only really works if you're railing the track - the first time down I wasn't on the pipe and so just kinda rolled over it. The berms sort of worked, but I can't remember what it was like to go down there without them.

One problem that I've realised with makara recently is that the vegatation is in really close to the track edge, which makes it tricky to see things in advance. It's fine if you know where everything (jumps, wood etc) is, but otherwise the place will tend to grab you. I found this with the little table after the skills area switchbacks too - the turn into the tabletop is just tight enough that you can't see around the corner, which increases the nerves when you see the table itself. Maybe cutting back the vegetation about a meter on the inside of the corner would help this - it would also mean that you can get more of a lean on around the corner, which would be nice.

I found myself thinking about a small ladder drop at the top of that steep section just before the rutty switchback further on down the track too. There used to be a nice step that you could launch off (it was on the outside of the track), but someone cut it out about 18 months back.
