Then, there is the obvious. If something as simple as this could improve your car's economy by 30%, it would be installed in the factory for a lot less than these fraudsters are sucking out of people. GM, Chrysler and Honda have spent tens of millions on research into displacement on demand (shutting down cylinders at the lights) for a measly 7% reduction in fuel consumption!

Without going into the whole bumblebee agruement over what science can or can't prove ( ), I would have to disagree with your statement above. There are numerous improvements that could be implemented by car manufacturers to improve economy but aren't. Restrictive air intake & exhaust systems are two classic examples which could easily be tweaked to gain good improvements in the economy of numerous vehicles (whilst still meeting noise and comfort requirements for owners) yet they aren't.
I say its a conspiracy by the major oil companies

Restrictive intake and exhausts are usually implemented to either prolong the life of the engine or to meet govt regulations.
I blame environmentalists. gnikcuf hippy scum.

Im with jumpR, would love to know a safe and easy way to enlargen the intake/exhaust on the ute, i cant even geet my hand into the air intake (yes, the engine was off when i tried this), for a 3l engine, its a tiny inlet - Ive read of some fairly substantial improvements on this and similar engines simply by increasing the size of the air intake and exhaust

Urge to kill...rising...
The bumble argument isn't about what science can and can't prove, it's about identifying which morons shouldn't be allowed to breed.

First time I took it home after buying it, me and Dad were standing there, chatting about it - mum comes out, says ooo - looks nice Dale, whats that hole in the middle of the bonnet (intercooler intake)
"Thats a speed-hole mum!"
