He was Desmond Leonard Eyre, 61, of Silverstream.
Mr Eyre was killed when he collided with an opening car door as he cycled along Fergusson Drive near St Patrick's College and was knocked into the path of a truck.
Police are investigating. |

Agreed, have a great ride and brilliant work sifter sorting this out. If I was in Welly I would be there!

Primo day out there... great for showing our respect for those who died and to raise awareness for the need to improve driver behaviour towrds cyclists.
I'll see everyone just after 4pm at the Kaiwharawhara lights.
