Or someone here could know what size.

Gt bikes take a 31.6 seatpost, well the new models all do anyway. Should be the right size

how can u measure the seat tube to see wat post i need mate surely thatd be tuff

You need a pair of vernier calipers that are capable of internal measurement. Like these for example.

or a ruler, and put it across the top. Even if you're a mm or so out, the bikeshop will know what size you meant.
