I used a little plug from kcid Sm ith that has a clip on it that you have to depress to pull it out.

Only about $2 and ten minutes of soldering.

It's been bomb proof so far.

Happy to post a picture of it if you want.

my mate tims light he just built last night, not much different than what most of you guys have, 35w 24°, only problem is that we can only ride for two hours before they start to dim , other wise all good Smile

That fuse holder is rather slick.
Try a 20watt IRC of 15deg for you'll get about 3hrs then.

yep thats worth ago, is 20watts all good?, we are gona hit hunua sometime in the weekend for a night blast or eskdale on the shore (ak) can't wait Smile

If you short circuit the battery accidentally the light cable may heat up,melting your pack or burning your back or the battery could explode. A fuse will blow first and stop this.
Your choice really.

ok then, so do the fuses come as a single unit you just put in the circuit like a switch

The auto ones like in the picture are easier, no soldering and they use standard crimp terminals.

I use the kcid smith connectors too, like this

Mine shorted in my bag, with the end in my pocket, resulting in me pulling very hot copper and melted plastic from my pocket. Not recommended.
But I wouldn't bother running a fuse... Just connect it up properly.
