So i was thinking about getting a new headset,(to try and get rid of a bad sound which i think is coming from my current headset) whats all this stuff about stack height?, do i need to get a headset with the same stack height?

At the mo i have a cane creek "S-2 12.3+15.1=27.4 stack height"
but thinking about getting this "fsa pig dh 15.4+16=31.4 stack height"

do i have to get one with the same stack height or is one just stronger than the other?

any help would great Smile thanks vorbers

Depends how many spacers your running on your forks. The stack height is how much steerer tube it takes, if you have a short steerer and no spacers at the moment, to have a bigger stack height headset would mean you would need to find a stem with a smaller stack height. Most bikes have a few spacers anyway, so it's not really an issue.
