ok thanks, umm this probly a stupid questions, but how do the dig days work?

Generally we'll meet at the wind turbine carpark at about 9:45 to carpool up to the top (or the bottom) of the track. There will be digging for between 2 and 3 hours - usually focussed on a particular track (jawbone is a bit of a focus at the moment) or a feature (like a jump or bowl), and then we'll often shuttle or session the track for a couple of hours.

If it's completely horrible weather the dig will sometimes be called off - it's not much fun throwing soil around when it's hosing down or a howling southerly!

If you're a member of the welly mtb club you'll get a newsletter via email that tells you when each of the digs is going to happen - usually the week before the dig itself.

you can scan the membership form and send it in if you want.
You can also do an online deposit.

Its a bit more effort but could be quicker in the long run.

Car passes are only sent out to current paid up members.

Generally every two weeks , but we mix up between satudays and sundays and make a descision 4-5 prior depending how Managers timetables are working.
Sunday seems to work best for people that come and help on Jawbone.

Notification is sent out in club newsletters.

If you keep an eye on the welly club forum, there will generally be advance notice. The next dig should be next weekend - we'll have a dig (and a ride afterwards, if the weather is good enough), focussing on jawbone. I've got a ladder drop to finish, and mike and crew will be working on sorting out some lines further up the track.

Oh, and if you join the club, you'll not only get the newsletter, you'll get access to the DH tracks in long gully as well...
