so was over wanaka way today & checked out the new bike & jump park in Lismore park, looks pretty sweet so far, lots of cool berms & jumps, mainly tables but a few big doubles on the big line
Some of the run ins look a little light for the size of the jumps though, I can see some hectic pedaling happening eh.
but the dodgiest thing I noticed was that most of the jump lines weave there way through the forest, so the line of sight is really bad, from the launch ramps the rider disappears from view before they've even hit the first jump, I think from a safety point of view its pretty tihs, because if someone stacks, you cant see them, so the potential for a nasty collision seems high
maybe their gona cut some more trees out, so you can see more, but it looks pretty much finished.
cant wait for it to open & have a go, wont be there when it busy though
anyone else had a look? what'd you think?

Yeah, that has been recognised as a problem and the trees will most likely be trimmed.
What'd ya think?

overall it looks sick eh, good to see some smaller stuff down in the middle with those little tables too, missus was stoked on those, well set up for different bikes too, DJ bikes for the smooth stuff & big rigs for the big gaps
cant wait for it to open, it said July on the sign, but I've heard rumors about them waiting till spring to open it too, would make sense to wait,
gona be wicked either way, the mini dream of wanaka

Paper reckoned towards the end of June.
We are doing a road trip through there about then, so would have been real keen to get a look in.

Awesome looking jumps. I'm planning a trip to Wanaka in August so hopefully the weather is good and go for a blat. So is this park the official and approved replacement for the other jumps in Sticky forest that got the axe?
