Message from the owners of Bicyclette
It is with great disappointment that we have to announce the closing of the Bicyclette retail store (for the time being at least).
Issues with staffing have made it too difficult in the short term to maintain the highest standard of service and we don't want to compromise on this.
We started Bicyclette driven by the vision of creating an inspiring store environment with a great customer experience for all riders and to look after the women's market. Given the circumstances we have decided it is better to put the business into hibernation than to impact the reputation we have built and your experience.
The store itself is performing well, has always met its obligations, made significant investments in the local cycling community and was recently recognised with a retail industry award. Without these staffing issues we would have continued to push ahead with our plans to make Bicyclette an even better cycling destination store.
The good news (looking on the bright side of a bad situation!) is that we will now bring forward our annual sale and make it a biggie. As promised you will be contacted first before we go public so we will keep in touch via email on progress and news.
A special thank you to the large number of regular customers who supported us from our start in 2006 - you added to the unique personality of the store and made all the hard work a pleasure.
We will make sure you get great bargains at our sale which should happen in the next few weeks.
Hopefully this will be a temporary situation and Bicyclette will emerge again. Should you wish to contact us regarding anything, please email info[at]bicyclette.co.nz.
Best wishes and safe riding, as always
Bicyclette owners

Sad news indeed! All the best to everyone involved, and here's hoping Bicylette will be reborn one day soon...

Staffing issues? Sounds like someone was selling stock out the back door for backhanders.
Could be wrong, but the point is, 'staffing issues', leaves things pretty open to your own interpretation.
Werent they seeling some Italian fixie's for $1400 or thereabouts? Masi, I think, was the brand?
Did someone say something about a sale?>

That really sucks, it was a first stop for tubes ($7.50 each wasnt bad) for mtb street riders and bmxers from vic park when we hung it up like a phone on the canyon gap(large). now we have to haul our deflated rigs all the way to velo. you will be dearly missed i guess tubes dont create revenue to run a store. Also, where will we get foxton fizz now?

That sucks. It was a pretty sweet store. And they had a decent range of girls stuff too (minus the floral arm warmers). I hope they are able to sort out their 'staffing issues' and get things back up and running.

hi guys
just to let everyone know that the "staffing" issues was related to finding staff - ie, some one suitable that was prepared to hang around for more than a couple of months, not anything untoward....was by far the best place i've ever worked!
just beginning to worry about where my 4 quad espresso's a day are going to come from.....
