Calendar Event: May 25, 2008
Attendees: Definite(3) - Total: 3 - Expected: 3 - View

2008 N-DURO MTB SERIES
New Zealand's most popular MTB Race Series on some of the worlds finest singletrack.

Events designed by mountain bike owners for ALL mountainbike bike owners.
These are classic, old-school style MTB races over one lap of challenging terrain in the world-renowned Whakarewarewa trail network.

All courses will take riders into the trail network and beyond with a great mix of uphill and downhill over forest roads and single track.

What’s up with the N-Duro Mountain bike Series
Classic old school style MTB races over one lap of challenging terrain in the world renowned Whakarewarewa trail network.
Events designed by mountain bikers for ALL mountain bike owners, use these old school classic races to build up for our longer events.

Take the challenge of either the short or long courses, ranging from 20km to 50km in length. There will be great views of the lakes and landscape that makes the Whakarewarewa Forest such a unique destination.
We also recommend you carry basic riding gear: warm clothes, food, plenty of water, tools, tubes, patches and pump. Maybe even a camera.

• The Place:
Each of the N-Duro Series MTB Races start and finish under the canopy of giant redwoods in Whakarewarewa Forest, Rotorua, New Zealand.
The venue is easy to find: take Tarawera Road (the road that goes to the Blue Lake, Buried Village, Lake Tarawera) off Te Ngae Road, SH30. Longmile Road is the second on your right.
There will be great food, COFFEE, water and toilets on site plus a variety of trade stands showing off the latest and greatest MTB gear and with those last minute supplies for the journey ahead.

• Registration:
You can pre-enter online on the website right up until each event.
Race HQ is past the Redwoods Information Centre, Longmile Road. This is open from between 13:00hrs–17:00hrs on the Saturday before the race or from 07:00hrs on Sunday - for you to register and collect your race pack.
If you can get in on Saturday it will save you time on race day.
On the day entries will be taken for each event - though there is a late fee.

• Entry Fees
$45 per Event.
Leave it late and enter on the day you will need to pay a $15 late entry fee.

• Race Times
Long Course race briefing - 09:15hrs
Short Course race briefing - 10:15hrs
Long course race start - 09:30hrs
Short Course - 10:30hrs

• King and Queen:
Compete in all three short or long course races and you have the chance to be crowned overall King or Queen of the series.

So the Highlander and Whaka are just one-off's this year.

I see they've claimed 40kms for the Highlander short course - closer to what it's always been Wink

Just the one even for me this year (Highlander short course). It'll be a bit weird not heading of to vegas every 5 minutes... lucky I have better places to be Tongue it

Looks like a good chance of picking up a spotty at the first one then, if all you pikers are only coming up for the last ones. Big Grin
