BikeNZ age group road cycling teams named

BikeNZ has named two age group road cycling teams for a tour in Australia and a training camp in Taranaki next month.

Four BikeNZ under-19 and under-17 teams will compete in the Kowalski Tour in Canberra from 4 to 6 July while an age group squad will take part in a training camp in Taranaki from 3 to 5 June.

The teams are:

Canberra Tour, 4-6 July

Men, Under 19:
Thomas Hubbard (Christchurch),
Sean Joyce (Havelock North),
Patrick Williamson (Alexandra),
Bradley Aldrich (Auckland),
Simon Finucane (Rotorua),
Andy McNab (Auckland),
Hayden Patene (New Plymouth).

Men, Under 17:

Josh Atkins (Christchurch),
Brad Evans (Dunedin),
Hamish Ellery-Brown (Auckland),
Denay Cottam (New Plymouth),
Jeffrey McDowell (Rotorua),
Steven Furegnimr (Auckland),
Daniel Furegnimr (Auckland),
Tim Daly (Timaru),
George Scott (Auckland),
Matthew Vermunt (Invercargill).

Women, Under 19:

Harriett Smithies (Christchurch),

Interesting name for an U17 there! The parents must have gotten abit confused or maybe it's a case of some cyclist taking to much estrogen??
