Kashi finished 14th in the Elite Mens Cross-Country, at the MTB World Cup XC #2. He was actually 1 min. closer to the winner, Julian Absalon, as in Houffalize/Belgium the week before. It was an extremely fast and furious race. For story and photos see www.cyclingnews.com, www.kashileuchs.com, or www.canadiancyclist.com.

Yeah, no report yet from her for Offenburg. Checked out some coverage of the race - has a very cool switchback descent section (didn't show climbs though)

Got the lowdown on KT's race - the Aussies have nicknamed her 'Lucky' but I'm f'ed if I can see why. Poor chick!
Basically what happened is her bike got stolen on Saturday, with the race on Sunday. It was in a shed with a bunch of others. She ended up on a borrowed bike from another Scott guy - super light but hard tail and she's been racing the fully for about a year now and it really suits her super strong technical style (as did the Offenburg course).
Anyway, she discovered a problem with one of the pedals on the start line - raced off to the Shimano tent to get it fixed and just made the gun. Made up a bunch of places with a good start but then went backwards as the bike was so not ready - guys set up, brakes other way round, rides totally differently, wide bars (clipping trees).
Just waiting for the race when she puts it all together and has a smooth run!
Next world cup is this Sunday in Madrid.
Hopefully less dramas this week!

They'll be making adjustments to the borrowed bike for this week. Then she's back home for a couple of weeks before Worlds. Her compulsory insurance should cover the theft, thank goodness, so hopefully that can all get sorted pretty swiftly when she's back.

Kaytee is the best thing ever to happen to a NZ skin suit. Easily one of the nicest people to deal with at worlds last year.

Haha - totally. Awesome chick - just hope things go a little better this week (even if on a borrowed bike!). She hasn't had much of a chance to show off her form yet this year.
