Theres an article on cycle sport news that says Willemese will compete in the junior Australian team at the world chaps in Italy later this year.
Quite confusing. Maybe has grand mother is a kiwi |
Aussie based apparently but has dual citzenship and has decided to race for NZ as he,s moving back here to live.Still dont know how he qualified other than his oceanias result racin for Australia as my boy beat him 2 out of 3 in Sth Island Cup and he didnt qualify for selection. If you want to be selected for worlds concentrate on Nats and Oceanias thats were selections are being made where one off result count not consistency.Good luck to all the other selected riders | but did you also consider his results from overseas races, i.e Austraaaaalia

Yay, loads of kiwis to support.
Will be heading up to Val Di Sole for the event - when the time comes and if you are lucky there could be some PXT updates coming your way.
Go hard Kiwis....

That's pretty cool, he's racing the world cups this year on Claudio Calouri's Tomac team, so thats another Kiwi on a big team overseas

But there is a process where you advise if you are open to selection or not, no? I may have mis-read something, but that was the line I got.

That's the way I understood it, it would save the selectors a heck of a lot of time instead of picking the best riders then ringing round and finding out half of them can't make it.

Correct on Bike NZ website they stated you had to contact high performance coach to express interest in gaining selection prior to summer races
