oh whoops, must have got his grammar mixed up with another person in this thread, and besides, bmxers have valid reasons why they don't like mountain bikers
Can we have an example of these valid reasons you speak of.
In my experience BMXers just dont like MTBers wherever you are riding. I have been told to kucf off from skateparks before by bmxers. Just because I was on an MTB. And I know for a fact that they had no hand at building that.
I was also a big part of building some jumps on a mates property in Auckland. And when we went to ride them, we found a group of BMXers altering the jumps and telling me and a bunch of my mates to get the hell off 'their jumps'.

For a start, why are you on a MOUNTAIN bike at a skatepark? The whole BMX hating Mountain bikers thing. I, as both a mountain biker and BMX'er would think that the whole mountain bike thing has just copied BMX, in the sense that they now ride mountain bikes at the skatepark, and to be honest, they really are behind.
Secondly, i hate the whole mountain biking "scene" (I'm targeting the Freeride scene here) its all so "sick" and "lycra hating" and its full of people who think they are "it". They all stop at a jump and marvel how extreme they are, when all it is, plain and simply is riding a bike. Freeriders think they are above that, they are in a new class of extreme!
well, thats my opinion, why not post on Thecomeupbmx, and start a thread asking this very question. The second part to your post is out of order, the only solution to that is to barricade your jumps or something (I've seen a locked gate in the middle of a rhythm section before) or perhaps some sort of proof you made them. Im sure i must have insulted someone in this post, its just my opinion.

I may have been on a mountainbike at a skatepark. But that particular mountainbike was set up for exactly that sort of thing.
I too did once ride a BMX. But to me a bike is a bike. And people should be able to ride their bikes like they want without being harrassed by people on a different bike than what they are riding. I never used to and still dont discriminate against people who BMX/ride XC/ DH/Dj's or anything. Because that is their choice, and all power to them.
I agree that if they are trails that you built and you dont want them destroyed, then you can have a say about who you let ride them. But thatshould be based on their skill factor and not on how big their wheels are. Or how much travel they have.
In regards to the BMXers telling me to get off 'their jumps'.
These jumps were made on Private land and we were with the son of the land owner. They had no concent to be on the property. So shouldn't have jumped the fence onto the property anyway.
exactly. i came down from blenheim and the scene for jumping ( mountainbikes and bmx) is really quite tihsty. i havent ever experienced people on bmxs telling me to kcuf off or anything like that before. i have heard of it though. i think that people should be able to ride however they want and not be harrased or abused. everyone equal. and for those bmxers that jumped the fence and came in then you are gay. you had no right to be there then you go in and ssip on everyones parade. quite rude really.

Why is he not aloud to take a street mtb to a skate park? and the generalisation of the freeriders, unless you know a good deal of the riders in NZ then I rekon you can be quiet now the guys trying to find some jumps so if you have no intention of helping him out then dont bother posting. as soon as someone has a story about bmxers screwing up someone elses jumps ur straight on the defensive ay
