Before I start my whinging, I must clarify that I think the V8s are Great for Hamilton and will be much better after the first year (unless you run a business along the track route from what I hear...)
My route to work everyday involves a ride down the main straight of the track and man is that sketchy at the moment with concrete barriers and galv fencing on top of them sitting on top of the kerb, and makes for narrow shoulder with traffic flying past so close... Its at the point that I ride on the footpath through there now but at some point I have to rejoin the traffic flow somehow? On the way home its worse cos there is no footpath and they keep closing the alternative ways I can go. Im kind of happy that its next week cos im just about at the point of giving up riding to work after another close call this morning where luck was the only reason i wasnt smeared along the pavement.

You big girl.
For those that don't know the long way would be all the 500m to a 1km extra.

Next you'll be telling everyone that Day light savings is a good thing.

I personally think that it's shameful that NZ is hosting such an unsustainable event at all. Motorsport has a lot to answer for, and I think it would be better for the planet if it was just banned outright.

Typical of you not to take this seriously. If we keep on down this path our children will not have a world to live in, let alone one in which they can carry on pointless pursuits like motor racing.

There have been a lot of developments that have come from motorsport that have improved efficiency and safety of normal cars. Though not from the V8's I think.

I was talking about my hypothetical children, Trevor and Loquisha. Hypothetical children have rights too. Smile
