 |

Hey ya'll,
Any Tauranga riders into sifty night rides? Since the days are getting shorter, its about time to dig out the night lights and start night riding again. I'm thinking wednesday nights, as its a good way to break up the working week, kick off round 7ish.
My focus is more on the sifty side of riding, as I only have the ss hardtail or the highly geared stinky, so the pace will be a bit more relaxed (push / slow grind up hills). Keen to hit up Oropi, maybe a few trips down to vegas, hit up some skateparks / urban - whatever.
Anyone else keen?

Always keen, not always able. However we need to get a few of us MTB Tauranga team guys out with lights before the Cateye Moonride, so will be into a couple of Vegas missions over the next month. 7pm is a better start time for me too.

think I need to look into these night light gadgets you crazy kids keep talking about. If poeple out there have a few different systems I could try before deciding what to get that'd be great- I wont even pretend to know diddly about them, though i do like the idea of head-mounted lights as opposed to only having bike-mounted ones.
Sifty rides though? dead keen. I dont want the Bullit to become neglected over the winter months!

I'm sure we can sort you out with a set of lights - I will get my spare set back up and running. I run a simple homemade halogen system with a heavy SLA battery, but it gives out plenty of light. Might try for a LED system later in the year if funds allow.. If you are only running one light, head mounted is definately the way to go.
Sifty rides are great - talk some tihse, have a beer, ride down trails with a big ass grin. All good
